Boston Canoe Club

Boston Canoe Club was formed in 1995 and is located on the River Witham near the Sluice Bridge.

We are an affiliated Canoe England club.

When and Where?

We meet twice a week, Mondays and Wednesday evenings between 6.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. from May to September.

We can be found at our club boat house at the Sea Scouts Hut, off Witham Town, Tattershall Road, Boston

We also have regular Saturday pool sessions during the winter months. We arrange a variety of trips out depending on paddler's individual abilities, skills and experiences.

What do I need?

We welcome new and experienced paddlers from age 8+ and can provide all the equipment you need to paddle. You will need to bring something to wear on the water (including footwear), a towel and a change of clothes.

All paddlers will need to complete a club membership form for safety purposes (even if you do not wish to become full club members). Children under 18 will need the form to be completed by their parent or guardian. This needs updating annually.

Why take up Canoeing or Kayaking?

First of all, because its fun! It is a great sport that allows you to develop both technical and personal skills. It allows you to enjoy the water in many ways: from gentle paddles, to more exhilarating white water rides, sprinting or games of polo.

It offers you an important chance to release the pressures from the working week. It is a social activity and we have great fun on (and off!) the water.

Canoe or Kayak?

We offer both! Canoes are traditional open boats usually powered by single bladed paddles. Kayaks have closed cockpits, usually covered with a spray deck and powered by a double bladed paddle. Why not come along and give both a try?
